Tephra ICA Arts Festival

Now in its 33rd year, the Tephra ICA Arts Festival (formerly titled the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival) will take place on May 18-19, 2024 at Reston Town Center. Over 200 contemporary artists and artisans will travel from across the country to present original handmade artwork to share with Festival audiences. Drawing upon a robust exhibitor and collector base coupled with Tephra ICA’s contemporary art foundation, the Festival has become one of the region’s most anticipated events, attracting tens of thousands of people to the unique, outdoor environment of Reston Town Center. Join Us for the 2024 Festival

This year, the event will feature contemporary artists and artisans from over 25 states across the country, producing high quality, hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind artwork and our annual innovative performances presented by Reston Community Center.

Karina Llergo, Ride Your Way, 2023

Each year, one artwork is selected from a participating Festival artist to use for promotion of the Festival. This year, the selected artwork is Ride Your Way by Karina Llergo, who was a first time participant of the Festival last year in the category of painting. As Llergo describes her subject: “She is taking the open road, joyful and free, with nothing behind her and everything ahead of her.” Be sure to stop by and visit Karina Llergo’s booth located in the 900 block of the Festival.

Parking and Transportation

Garage parking at Reston Town Center is free during the Festival weekend. For public transportation, take the Metro Silver Line to Reston Town Center Station. The Festival is a 10-minute walk from the Metro station or a quick shuttle ride via Link RTC.

Volunteer at the Festival

More than 300 volunteers help make this event possible each year. Festival volunteers fill a variety of roles, including but not limited to: event set-up, welcoming of guests, booth sitting for participating artists as part of the Artist Hospitality group, accepting donations as a Festival Ambassador, or helping young emerging artists create fun projects in the Family Art Park. Each task is critical to the success of the event and would not be possible without your support!

Volunteers as young as 13 years old are welcome to earn community service hours at this event.
