Introduction

Join us as we celebrate Buoyant Force, the 50-foot steel sculpture by artist Sue Wrbican inspired by the paintings of American Surrealist Kay Sage. The event will feature a poetry reading by Heather Green and a Reston Community Center sponsored dance performance by Tariq O’Meally.

This event is free and open to the public.

Heather Green is the author of the poetry collection No Other Rome (Akron Poetry Series, 2021) and the translator of Tristan Tzara’s Noontimes Won (Octopus Books, 2018). She teaches in the School of Art at George Mason University.

Tariq Darrell O'Meally is a Contemporary dance artist and choreographer. O'Meally has presented his work at the John F. Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building among many others, is the Artistic Director of Tariq Darrell+the UNUM Dance Collective, and has taught at CityDance School & Conservatory to name a few. He has also lectured at the National Gallery of Art and The Hirshhorn Museum and was a 2018-2019 Halcyon Arts Lab Fellow.
