I create contemporary jewelry that explores contrast through material, surface, and form. Working in sterling silver, often combined with gold and select gemstones, I am drawn to the interplay between light and dark, refined detail and organic structure, and the way surface treatment can transform a simple form into something layered and expressive.
My creative process is material-driven and intuitive. I begin with hand-fabricated silver forms and build complexity through forging, forming, and surface development. Oxidation is an essential element in my work, used to deepen the surface and allow highlights of polished silver and gold to emerge. I often incorporate keum-boo gold to introduce warmth and subtle pattern, creating visual contrast without overwhelming the form.
This approach is evident in the pendant shown in my portfolio featuring an oxidized silver form accented with keum-boo gold, floral elements, and a pearl set within an open, irregular field. Branching silver details and small gemstone accents create a sense of movement and growth, while the pearl provides a quiet focal point. The composition balances organic imagery with structural restraint.
I make this work because I am drawn to jewelry as an intimate, wearable form of art—objects that are meant to be touched, worn, and lived with. I strive to create pieces that feel grounded and enduring, offering a sense of personal connection through use of material, process, and form.
