I am very curious about new techniques and often attempt non-standard forms of glasswork. It is difficult to define a particular area that inspiration comes from... it comes from everything that surrounds me. The idea of The Kraken stained glass piece came from a writer in California who creates pirate fantasy novels. She reached out to ask if I could create a mystic sea creature attacking an old ship that she could use as visual inspiration when creating one of her works. The idea of this was brilliant! After creating this piece, I decided to create various glass designs using this idea. Other moments of inspiration often come to me in the middle of the night while I am asleep. As soon as an idea hits me, I have to capture the moment by sketching out the idea before it leaves me.
