About the Artist
My abstract work is usually word-based. A word or phrase will intrigue me. It becomes my springboard for the painting. Holding that thought through the painting affects everything, the design, the color, and the shapes and lines. I build up many layers, creating a history of the process. The works are created on wood panel with a combination of gesso, acrylic paint, ink, graphite, oil pastel, and collage elements. Lives and works in New Bern, NC.
