I have always had a fascination with fabric. Colors, textures, varieties. The juxtaposition of leather and lace, silk and cotton, print and solid is what inspires me. Bringing these contrasting fabrics together, I am able create the unexpected. Using traditional quilting stitches and techniques, I am able to add even more contrast. Vintage luxurious silks and satins add richness to the texture of the stitch work. High gloss and metallic thread give the quilting life and movement. I hope to have used these techniques and transformed the classic quilt into contemporary fine art.
