About the Artist

My creative process revolves around my journey of being human and my persistent effort to become comfortable in my own skin. I find strange solace in trying to laugh at my fears, insecurities and resistance to the aging process. My little clay people are my avatars. They are brave and confident and help me pretend that I also possess these qualities.
In all of my pieces, the title is visible on a small clay tile and is not only an integral part, but the impetus for the entire work. These titles are always born of some level of introspection of how I and my fellow humans (often female) both cope and embrace life.

Once I have come up with a title that I think tells a story, I imagine how best to illustrate it within the confines of my 4" clay characters and the wood panel where they will reside.
