About the Artist

To me art is a representation of the world we experience and all forms of photography fall within this sphere. My technique is High Dynamic Range photography (HDR), an evolving form of art that enables the photographer to capture and display the full range of light that can be realized by the human eye. I achieve this by taking multiple exposures of the same scene and then I blend the exposures with software to create the final photograph. I photograph, mainly, Rural Americana and all "lost" places, I have my photos dye sublimated into metal that gives them incredible depth, clarity and luminescence. "Cyclone's Last Ride" clearly represents my creative process as it is location had lighting challenges: bright sunshine yet my subject was shaded by the structure. Traditional photography would have me expose for the light either "outside" or "inside" this structure. But HDR photography allows me to capture a broader range of light, as if the viewers were there with me seeing it for themselves.

Based in Selma, North Carolina.
