About the Artist

I fell in love with rocks as a child, and am continuously inspired by the beauty of unusual stones, clean lines, color shapes, texture, contrast and asymmetry drawing from my previous career as a graphic designer. Every stone used in my designs is hand selected or hand cut, and I mine the natural turquoise in Nevada with the claim owners. I strive to create bold, beautiful and memorable statement pieces using harmonious combinations of stones and shapes creating a language of it's own - from classy sophistication to feisty or fierce – the attitude of each piece goes beyond adornment by reflecting the wearers expression in timeless designs.

My Creative process begins with hundreds of stones on a 3' x 6' work surface. The designs are often dictated by the stones while I move the them around to create the interesting relationships. I’m also thinking about the metals and color of the metals that will provide the contrast or subtlety they require. This is how the Blue Moon Turquoise Necklace was created. When working with a particularly interesting color palette, or shapes of stones, I often push the design into other pieces as seen in the Blue Moon Fiesta Cuff.
