About the Artist
I am a painter (primarily oils), and an intaglio printmaker using dry point, etching, and mezzotint. My paintings are primarily representational and accomplished in a painterly style. My print work is primarily black and white, based on the traditional approach to etching and mezzotint, stemming from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. I am fascinated that intaglio printmakers today use the same processes and techniques employed by the old masters. I find that a black and white print, when well executed, has a timeless quality to it. I also enjoy telling people about the intaglio printing processes, because these processes are unknown to most people, and they appreciate discovering these techniques.
