About the Artist
Megan has been creating jewelry since 2005. Her jewelry is created using off loom bead weaving and bead embroidery techniques. Pieces are created by stitching very small glass beads together with needle and thread and by embroidering beads directly to material around stones, shells, fossils, enameled metal and glass focal pieces. Bead embroidery allows this artist to paint with beads. She frequently works with her customers to create unique pieces, where they select a focal piece from the artist’s collection and work together to make a truly collaborative piece of jewelry. At times, the customer already has a stone they’ve acquired and just haven’t found the right artist to work with to turn it into a piece of wearable art. This artist frequently demonstrates bead weaving and bead embroidery during the show to help educate her potential customers on the intricacies of beadwork.
