About the Artist
I am committed to designing dramatic, innovative, original contemporary fine jewelry. I create my work in precious metals and fine gemstones (18kt gold + platinum) and am very well known for my use of incredible, fine quality, custom faceted, rare and unusual gemstones and diamonds. My list of techniques and tools continually is changing and growing but includes metalsmithing; fabrication; cadsmithing; hand sculpting waxes; machining metal and wax; cold joining; soldering; laser welding; forging; rolling. I am open to any and all traditional; ancient and unheard-of techniques to communicate and deliver my vision. I attended jewelry school at Studio Jewelers, a jewelry bench school in New York City, and received a comprehensive jewelers degree after months of intensive bench work. I also received private one-on-one education and training for rendering, wax and cad modeling and advanced stone setting. My design skills are self-taught, which leaves me unencumbered by the rules of the mass-manufactured jewelry industry and free to pursue my own original path of creating original and wearable precious sculptures.
After 25 years of success, my maturity as an artist in design, technique, and quality has taken deep roots. My unique filter of the world he lives in is his engine for inspiration and expression. My designs have a strong minimalist line as well as an iconic structural profile. I am is strongly inspired by his ability to visually deconstruct an object I see and use its inner skeletal structure for the origination of a design. The designs capture a strong feel of motion and mechanical drama. My mastery in jewelry technique and maturity in design has allowed my imagination and the finished jewelry to become one. Lives and works in New York, NY.
