About the Artist
Growing up in Philadelphia had given me access to a wealth of cultural experiences from a very early age to the point where I thought that everyone participated in making art. Though I am no longer a city dweller, my formative years continue to dictate my subject matter and palette to a great extent. I love the entire grey to black spectrum and muted hues that are associated with the urban landscape. Because I love drawing, the element of line is of great importance to me and my commercial art background has greatly influenced my desire to compose my paintings with solid design principles in mind. These two elements, line and design, are integral for bringing a sense of movement to my work which, again, is so much a part of urban life. I think the piece, 'Memorabila' best exhibits my color palette and technique.
