Balance is the key to life. Within our families, if one person is not in sync, the entire family is not balanced. My obsession on movement and kinetic energy started at a very early age. Simply put, I could not stay still and neither could my mind. I loved collecting objects from nature and creating mobiles and balancing sculptures. Sticks, acorns, rocks and string progressed into copper and stainless steel. All free form with no welding, pendulums and fulcrums galore. The kinetic movement is simply magical and creates a meditative feeling and a smile inside and out. My piece named Solstice is a great example of this phenomenon. Three concentric circles perfectly balanced with a 360 degree range of motion.
